Mark Roberts is one of the UK’s leading professional picture conservators with over forty years of experience. Established in 1985 and moving to its current location in 2000 his studio specialises in the conservation and restoration of easel paintings.

Over the years the studio has provided their services for many public art galleries in the Midlands and Yorkshire, as well as historic houses, universities and private clients from across the UK. The highly qualified Conservators at the studio have a variety of expertise that enables them to undertake treatment on a range of historic and contemporary works of art to the highest standard.

We undertake a full range of conservation and restoration treatments that include dealing with structural problems, such as tears and linings, as well as the aesthetic issues. Where certain projects require, the studio can also provide technical analysis. Each case is assessed individually and an appropriate treatment proposal is established depending on the works specific requirements and the clients needs.

Our studio keeps abreast with current developments in the field of conservation and is committed to widening public engagement with our profession, helping to ensure the preservation of works of art for future generations.
